The CSPES Family Connections Network is a new program from the CSPES PTO, launched in February 2026 and designed to support families as they enter the school community. While our CSPES family is welcoming, we know that the early experience can feel overwhelming—balancing paperwork, schedules, uniforms, and trying to connect with new friends all at once.
This program is intended to give new families one friendly point of connection they can reach out to with everyday questions.
Things like....
Where do you shop for uniforms?
How do you manage back-to-school requirements?
How does the Student of the Month ceremony work?
Where can I find information about programs and events?
Our hope is this will help give new families a sense of belonging and camaraderie early in their child's time at CSPES, which will only grow as time goes on!
Details:
Informal and relationship-focused (not a formal mentoring structure)
Flexible in communication method (text? email? Facebook? phone calls?), to be determined by the paired families
Open to all families, no matter how long you've been a part of CSPES!
Fill out a brief form telling us a bit about yourself and what you're looking for (Newbies) or how you'd like to help (Vets)
We'll thoughtfully match Newbies with Vets based on shared interests, grade levels, or specific needs
We'll introduce you via email, and you take it from there—connect in whatever way works best for both of you
There's no timeline or required commitment. Some connections might be a quick text exchange; others might turn into lasting friendships!
A Family Connections Newbie is any family or caregiver who wants support, connection, or a better understanding of the school and PTO community.
Family Connections Newbies may be:
New to the school
New to PTO involvement
Looking for guidance, clarity, or resources
Unsure where or how to get involved
Family Network Newbies are encouraged to ask questions, share what they’re looking for, and engage in ways that feel comfortable. Vets are there to provide you with support—not pressure. Engage in the way that feels comfortable to you.
A Family Connections Vet is someone who feels settled in the school and PTO community and wants to help others feel the same.
Vets remember what it’s like to be new. They are approachable, responsive, and supportive—not because they have all the answers, but because they’re willing to listen and help point people in the right direction.
Vets:
Share helpful information and school/PTO insights
Make warm connections between families
Help others navigate resources and opportunities
Proactively share upcoming events, tips, and reminders
Support connection and understanding across the community
No expertise required—just a willingness to help!
