In March 2026, the CSPES PTO awarded $13,000 to teachers and staff through our inaugural Piece of the π Grant. This grant was open to CSPES teachers and staff who are PTO members (membership has perks), and we were thrilled to support so many creative, student‑centered ideas.
Today’s Piece of the π spotlight features our Kindergarten and First Grade scholars, who enjoyed an amazing Arts for Learning Cultural Arts Experience on April 29, 2026. Thanks to Ms. D for making this opportunity possible.
Students explored six regions of the world through music, movement, storytelling, and hands‑on activities.
Our scholars were fully engaged, showing excitement, curiosity, and teamwork. Teachers shared that students continued talking about the experience long after it ended, which shows how great it was.
This is what the Piece of the π Grant is all about: bringing high‑impact opportunities to our students.
And remember, none of this happens without YOU. Your membership, fundraising, and steady support make these moments possible for our scholars and our community.
Check out photos and videos of the fun day!
Today’s Piece of the π Spotlight features 2nd grade teacher Ms. Gordon, who received funding to bring flexible seating into the classroom. According to the National Education Association, flexible seating can boost engagement and productivity, strengthen collaboration and communication, and even support better physical health.
But don’t just take our word for it — watch this video and hear directly from our in‑house experts: the scholars!!
And remember: none of this happens without YOU. Your membership, your fundraising, and your steady support make our PTO community strong and impactful.
Today, we’re excited to share our very first Piece of the Pi spotlight featuring Pre‑K teacher Ms. Graziano, who received funding to bring a TonieBox and a collection of Tonies into her classroom. Her students have embraced this screen‑free, literacy‑rich technology with fun and independence.
None of this happens without YOU. Your membership, your fundraising, and your steady support make our PTO the best in the world.
Her class even created a special thank‑you message for the PTO. Check out the video!
